Just in Time! (...again!) :0

{For this one, I was thinking I'd play someone besides the main time-traveler. Either the mother or a sidekick also from the same time perhaps? Or an uncle? Does anyone have preferences for who he/she wants to be? I can start or someone else can; I just figured that it's best if we take new roles this time so the RPs aren't identical ^-^}

{This all sounds good to me! A position still open is dear ol' dad, but no one has to fulfill it (and it could be later too). Since the good time travelers really dictate most of the plot, I'm going to be (at least at first) in a pretty passive role, but here's a teeny intro for the mother! I may also add a character later but feel free to add whomever whenever you want to. And in the last version, characters did have special powers, and anyone's free to do that, but the mother isn't going to. Bonus points if the mother is a clean-cut politician in the future, lol. And Kai, feel free to make the uncle the sibling of either parent.}

Pax was in the middle of a rebellion. Her mother insisted that college was important, yet here Pax was, a twenty-year old in a coffee shop serving drinks without a college campus in sight. She had never really gotten along with her mother or her siblings, since after the divorce she had moved to her father's house with the shiny new trophy wife and flawless kids. They let her do whatever she wanted to and she did. Skydiving lessons, car races, backpacking--she was all about the adventure. And all about getting away from school, where as far as she was concerned, snotty teachers taught nothing she'd ever use. She was glad her employer was okay with her appearance--the beauty of an independent store. She had dyed her hair bright blue a few weeks ago but her black roots were already showing through. Her ears were pierced four times. Pax was considering whether she could afford a nose ring on the day when everything changed...

Vincent landed on the roof of a building and looked around. He looked down at his watch/time detector and saw that it was the correct year. He needed to find them fast. Hopefully, he's not too late to fix the horrible future.

Valeria looked up from her cup of coffee. She saw the blue-haired waitress and smiled. That was definitely her. She managed to find her mother without any incidents. Hopefully, things will continue to go smoothly.

Atticus entered the coffee shop without a care in the world, eyes looking out from under his hood to see if the person he was looking for was here. He smiled when he caught sight of her and went to take a seat in the corner that was next to the window.

Shaye released a sigh as he walked down the streets. Regardless of how many times he had told his sister, he knew that it would take a lot more to convince Pax to join college. Though, that hardly mattered. So, here he was walking to the coffee shop that Pax was working in when he caught sight of the strange man on the roof.

"....Excuse me? I don't think that's safe."

Pax was cleaning the counter when her co-worker asked her to help with the tables. Great. More work and she wouldn't even be eligible for the tips since they were the other girl's tables. She glanced at the hooded dude in the corner and gave him a slight smile. "I'll be right with you." She grabbed a tray and a scone, bringing it to Valeria's table and setting it down. "Patty"--she gestured to her co-worker--"says this is a freebie since she took so long to get your coffee. Can I get you anything else?"

Vincent looked down and slightly laughed. "Yea . . . I'll be right down." He turned and tried to find a way down. He didn't want to do anything that would make him stick out. The results wouldn't be good if someone found out he's not from this time.

Valeria smiled and shook her head. "That's all for now. Thanks for the scone." She quietly observed the area. "I'll call if I need anything else."

Atticus just nodded lightly at Pax, watching her from under his hood. Though, he soon looked over at Valeria and his eyes narrowed.

Shaye just watched Vincent with a raised eyebrow.

"Are you new here?"

"Cool, just let me know," Pax replied, taking her leave and walking over to Atticus' table as she wondered where Patty had gotten off to. Her co-worker was notorious for vanishing right in the middle of the rush. "All right, sorry about that. What can I getcha?"

Vincent laughed nervously. "Is it that easy to tell?" He found the fire escape and climbed down.

Valeria looked around while taking another sip of her drink. There's no mistaking it. He's here. She took a quick survey around and found a hooded figure. She kept her gaze on them for a few more seconds before looking away. That might be him. His aura is full of evil and murderous intent. She'll need to keep a close eye on that one.

"Can I get a small cup of black coffee?" Atticus asked, smiling at her amiably. Though, he could feel Valeria's gaze on him and glanced over at her.

"Just a bit," Shaye said, but he continued to watch Vincent carefully.

She nodded, scribbling something down on a notepad then looking back at him. She followed his gaze and raised an eyebrow. "Do you know her?" It was not unheard of for patrons to see friends in the shop and combine their tables.

He walked over and extended his hand out. "Sorry about that. I'm Vincent."

Valeria felt eyes on her and turned. She saw the hooded person looking over at her. She smiled and raised her coffee mug in a greeting gesture.

"Nope, not at all," Atticus replied, giving Pax a smile.

"I'm Shaye," Shaye replied, taking Vincent's hand and shaking it.
