Artic sighed and froze in her step. "Ian . . . I think there's people nearby."

Aiden shrugged. "Be disappointed as much as you want. It doesn't change the fact that your security wasn't able to detect them before I stepped in. What's the point in having them when they don't even do any good?" He stared over to the President with a stern gaze. "I think you should reconsider security. You know that we won't be here to watch this place every waking hour. We have our own missions and duties to attend to as well."

"Great... I guess we better be prepared for a fight." Seth pulled out his sword from his sheath. "Make sure you're ready too, Flame."


The President stared at Aiden. "If you other assignments to do, then I suggest you get to it. We're done here."

"How many people?" Ian asked in a lowered voice, his eyes darting around.

Flame nodded, placing a hand on the hilt of her sword.

Seren snickered as she stretched. "Superpower kid from what the report tells me."

"Of course it's a superpowered kid. Great. Know if it's a guy or a chick?" Noelle asked, reaching into her pocket and searching for something.

Artic kept her eyes straight ahead. "I think two. No more than two."

Aiden turned towards the door and walked out without a sound. That President doesn't know how lucky he is. He would have died a long time ago if he and the other members weren't there to protect him and his precious company. He turned towards Norm. "If you want to talk to him, now would be a good time." Without another word he continued on his way.

Seth looked down to Flame and laughed nervously. "Umm... Flame... if these people aren't friendly and we managed to beat them... what do we do next?"

Flame blinked and tilted her head, placing a finger on her chin. She then smiled up at Seth innocently. "Run?" she suggested.

Seren stretched her arms above her head, hearing a few joints pop awake. She replied, "The reports didn't say. They only said it was a superpower child."

"Uuugh, in other words, I'm a damn babysitter again," Noelle complained.

"I'll be right back, Ian. You pretend things are normal." Artic turned to the side and climbed up a tree.

"Run? Really?" Seth looked down to Flame with a confused expression. "That's a bit funny... We are training to be top warriors and yet we're gonna run after defeating someone." He smiled and turned his attention back ahead. "Umm Flame... Weren't there two people ahead of us?"

Flame followed Seth's gaze and frowned slightly, her senses becoming alert. "We need to split up," she said quietly, making sure only Seth can hear her. "The other one is probably hiding somewhere."

Ian sighed before continuing on ahead. However, he made sure to keep an ear out on their followers.

Seren snickered and nodded. "Yup. Pretty much."

"Damn." Noelle sighed. "I mean, I'm not good with the kids or anything...why do they keep giving me these babysitting assignments?"

Artic kept a close eye around and sat on the tallest branch. "Hmm . . . if I'm not mistaken . . ." She looked down and sighed. "This is definitely not good. Better warn Ian about these two." She reached into her bag and pulled out a metal feather. "Hope Ian remembers what this means." She threw it into the air and watch it drift over to him.

"Split up? Is that a good idea? These people obviously have a lot of experience." Seth looked around cautiously to make sure no one was going to suddenly attack.

"You have a lot of experience too, don't you?" Flame looked up at him curiously.

Ian noticed the ball of light and he frowned slightly. He spared a glance in Artic's direction, raising an eyebrow.

"Because they think it'll be good experience for you," Seren told her with a bright smile.

Noelle scowled at her. "More likely they're just punishin' me."

"Now or never . . . can't let these two follow us anymore." Artic drew her sword and threw herself out of the tree towards the two followers.

"Watch out!" Seth quickly pushed Flame back while jumping away. He saw a figure land right where they were standing. "Better get ready, Flame. Looks like we have to fight." Seth took out his sword and went into his stance.

Ian sighed, muttering to himself before jumping out and attacking them from behind.

Flame squeaked and hastily created a flame barrier around her and Seth from behind, shielding them from Ian's attack. She eyed Artic curiously.

"And why would they do that?" Seren asked innocently.

"'Cause I think their rules are stupid," Noelle replied.
