She approached Vincent and set the cup on the table. "Sorry that took so long. Can I get you anything else?"

"I don't need anything else, but if you're not too busy I would like to talk to you." Vincent smiled lightly as he reached for his coffee.

"What in the world is he doing?" she whispered to herself. This is definitely not good.

Atticus leaned back in his chair, taking out a small needle and twirling it in his fingers. Though, he made sure not to let anyone else see it.

Shaye frowned, glancing at the customers. Something wasn't right about this, and he glanced over at Vincent.

Pax glanced at Shaye then back to Vincent. She sat down across from him. "Sure, it's cool. I can talk. What'd you want to ask? We don't have any job openings."

"I'm not looking for a job. I was wondering if you may be thinking about joining a group that I'm getting together." Vincent smiled lightly and glanced over to the others.

Valeria sighed and rested her head on the table. She took out a small device and placed it under the table. Now she'll be able to listen to their conversation.

Atticus watched them curiously before taking a sip of his drink.

Shaye held back a growl, eyes narrowing as he watched Vincent warily.

"Like a band?" Pax knew she looked like a rocker but she wasn't sure she wanted to join some random guy's group.

"Not a band. More like an organization." Vincent continued smiling. Hopefully she'll say yes.

Valeria rose an eyebrow. An organization? That can't be good. Not good at all.

At that, Atticus got up and casually strode over to where Vincent and Pax was. He smiled amiably.

"An organization? That sounds interesting. Sorry, but I couldn't help but listen in," he told them, giving them an apologetic look.

Shaye blinked in surprise when he noticed Atticus walking over to where Pax and Vincent was sitting. His eyes narrowed. Just what was going on here?

Pax looked between Atticus and Vincent and opened her mouth to reply before standing up. "I'm not interested in whatever organization you're a part of. I'm not a law-breaker and I'm not an idiot. Why the hell would any trustworthy organization pick up random chicks in a coffee shop? No thank you."

Vincent smiled and kept a calm face. "It's no problem. It's just . . . when I walked in here and saw you, I knew you have a strong character." He looked over at Atticus and kept a smile on his face, but inside he was on the verge of biting this guy's head off. "Sorry . . . but this organization is kind of exclusive."

Valeria let out a sigh of relief. Now she can warn Pax before those two try something. She raised her hand up to get Pax's attention.

"Oh, is that so?" Atticus asked, keeping the innocent smile on his face. "That's just too bad then."

Shaye released the breath he didn't realize he was holding before looking over at Vincent and Atticus. Those two boys were odd, he mused.

Pax watched the pair suspiciously for a moment then noticed Valeria's hand. She was pretty relieved, admittedly, for an excuse not to continue the weird conversation. She headed over. "How can I help you?"

Vincent shrugged lightly. "Sorry. Rules are rules."

Valeria smiled and held up her mug. "Can I get a refill? And maybe another scone?"

Atticus stared at Vincent for a moment, blinking under his hood and then smiled. "Alright."

He walked back to his own table, a troubled look on his face. This wasn't good.

Shaye sighed, continuing to watch everyone. There was slightly something off with those three.
